Good Luck Pioneerettes Dance Team!

This past Sunday the dance team had their family/friends performance of their Dance Nationals Hip Hop routine at the high school. Joy, of Simply Joy Catering, made a GREAT cake for us to celebrate the occasion!! Everyone loved it and there wasn't hardly a piece left! We got tickled with the girls. They wanted to get the piece so that they could "eat their own face!"
They were so funny!
If any of you are needing a cake for any special event, birthday, wedding, anniversary, ect. Give Joy a call or email. She can fix you right up with a great tasting cake or other catering item! Her link is to the right on my blog.
It's that time if you have been keeping up with my Mickey time ticker on my blog you will know that we will be packing our bags and heading to
NATIONALS!
The W.C. High School Pioneerettes Dance Team heads to Orlando, Florida on Thursday to compete Sat. in the Universal Dance Association's National Dance Team Championship.

They will be competing this year in the Hip Hop Division.
We have been watching the weather channel quiet often and it looks like it is going to be very cool while we are there! Ugh! I was hoping for some warm weather to at least get a little bit of sun while were were there! Guess beggars can't be choosers!

GOOD LUCK GIRLS! WE LOVE YOU!

Happy 17th Birthday Hayley P.!!

The Grandey family would like to wish my daughter's best friend, Hayley "P" a very, very Happy 17th Birthday today!!
Leah and Hayley have been best friends since 3rd grade. 3rd grade was Leah's first year going to school at Eastside and it was Hayley's first year at Eastside moving from Sparta!
We love Hayley absolutely to death. She's just like one of our own. She went with us to Florida this summer (as you can see from the pictures above!) and we all had a great time! Her mom, Kim and step-dad, Brad are good friends of ours as well and we all have a great time together. I also might add that I have Hayley's nephew, Caleb in preschool. So I get to see the Hillis/Mackie family quite often!
WE HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY MISS HAYLEY!

Do you recognize any of these children???

I have had the biggest time tonight going through some of my family pictures and organizing them and I ran across this sweet picture made at the fair in 1997.
Have you figured out who they are?
Well starting from left to right --
My daughter, Leah
John Ryan, Simply Joy's Caterings son
Holly Hodges is holding Katie, Simply Joy's daughter
My daughter, Lauren (who will kill me for posting this because her eyes are closed!) Sorry Lauren
and in front of Lauren is Dillon, Simply Joy's son.
Lauren, Holly and John Ryan were 9 years old, Leah is 5 years old, Dillon is 3 years old and Katie is maybe 1 1/2.
During this time in John Ryan and Lauren's lives they liked each other. You know the 9 year old "puppy love". That is how we were introduced to the Tubb family. We have been friends ever since that time and have shared lots of fun times together.
I could write a book on the Grandey/Tubb memories that would probably be as thick as a Harry Potter book!! LOL!

Getting to sleep late again!

It has been snowing on and off all day but the sun did come out for awhile. I just knew that we would probably have school tomorrow. Well it started snowing again in the late afternoon and the snow started covering my road again. Not long after that we got a call on the "red" line LOL saying that there would be NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! Wow this long weekend has now turned into 6 days!!
Bet we go on Thursday though. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow.

Not believing this!!

Why does it snow on a day that we already have off from school???? Never fails!!
We'll just hope for another "snow" day off tomorrow!

Congratulations to Victoria!

Wow we are all soooo excited! Victoria Woods, Warren Co.'s reigning Fairest of the Fair won the State Fairest of the Fair pageant tonight in Nashville!
Victoria's Aunt Cynthia Duncan and I have been friends ever since we were in the 7th grade. We have watched many fairest of the fair pageants and I told Cynthia and her mom, Barbara Woods that I thought Victoria would win our Fairest of the Fair this year. She is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well.
Congratulations Victoria! We are so very proud!

My New Header!

Well I think everyone has gotten a kick out of my pictures of Joey, Leah and Scott playing guitar hero!
Katie has surprised me with this just a few minutes ago!
She did a great job! I am impressed Katie Pooh!

Thank you so much!

Announcement!

Too cold here in Middle Tenn. today! 4 degrees was the low. How happy do you think we are??? Esp. if you are a teacher!

Rae and Scott's Wedding Shower

Congratulations to Scott and Rae Boutte'! We had a great time at the wedding shower!! Myself, Carolyn, Sandra, Laura, Susan P., Penny and Treva hosted the shower for them. We have all worked together at some point during our careers whether it be in the preschool lab at the high school or coaching together for the dance team. Thanks to everyone who attended! It was just like a reunion. Everyone had a great time catching up and visiting with one another.
Here's the proud dad and mom --aka- Tommy and Patti with Scott and Rae.

We thought our table decorations looked great and very classy. Patti helped us with the flower decorations! I know we tried to tell her that she is the mother of the bride and DID NOT need to do that but.... you know Patti!! LOL!
Rae and Scott got sooooo many nice gifts. I would say that she has just about all of her stainless and her dishes now.

Here is the gift that I had Brandie make from Dream Custom Artwork blog. I just love it! I am thinking about getting me one for myself for our home. We ended up putting it at the guest register table. I think I have a picture on down of that.

More pretty table decorations! Joy from Simply Joy Catering made the great cake. We used the colors pale yellow and white for the shower. Take a look at her blog -- http://www.simplyjoycatering.blogspot.com/ and check out the cake on her blog header. It was beautiful!

Here's Meagan, Rae's sister-in-law and best friend along with Lauren. I am thankful to have Meagan and her husband, aka - Charlie Clarke in the boro in case Lauren needs them. We all have fun at the "Better Than Nothin" place of Tommy and Patti's during the summer. That's were I hang out in my floating chair! LOL!

Isn't this pretty?

I absolutely love this picture!! Rae was having such a good time visiting with friends at the shower that she had not seen in such a long time, that we finally told Scott that he was going to have to start opening or we would never get through! Needless to say.....I think he had a great time!

The all smiles kitchen crew helping out! Sandra, Susan, Laura and Carolyn

I really liked this picture of mother and daughter!

Family friends! Melinda and JoAnn

and more friends!

It was a great day enjoyed by all! Rae and Scott we wish you a life-time of happiness together!
We love you all!

Lauren has found her look-alike!!

Lauren called me today all excited to tell me that she had found her long lost "twin" LOL!! Someone had come into the store where she works and had asked her if she knew this particular girl and of course she said no. She actually lives in the same town that Lauren goes to college and she is a senior this year at a high school there. Their facial features are sooooo alike that it is scary!!! I guess we would know what Lauren would look like if she had darker hair !!! Opps better verify that my daughter is on the bottom and her look alike is at the top if you needed to know!
What do you think????

Wedding Shower Pics Coming Soon!

Hopefully sometime tomorrow I will be able to post the wedding shower pictures of Scott and Rae "Clarke" Boutte'. We had a great shower for the newly married couple this past Sunday. My pictures turned out great and I can't wait to share them with you.

Until then you'll just have to keep checking back!! LOL!

So Many Sick at this time......

Goodness there seems to be so many family members of those who I am friends with very sick at this time or hurting. Please keep the following people and family members in your prayers at this time.
Hazel Griffith - Joy Tubb's mom she has a compression fracture in her lower back. She is 85 and in a lot of pain and cannot hardly walk. She is scheduled to go to Nashville later this week.
Katie "Pooh" Tubb pulled a Leah Grandey yesterday and bruised her tailbone real bad. Thank goodness is it not broken but she is still in as much pain as if it were broken. She had to come and borrow a nice cushion that Leah had to use today. Hopefully it will help. That kind of injury just takes time to heal. Just be patient Katie.
The Mark and Debbie Haley family - Mark's dad, Harris and Debbie's mom, Frances are in the hospital at this time.
The Joe Adam's family - Joe is in very serious condition right now and needs many prayers. His wife is Tommye and daughters Cindy and Carol.

More Prayers please

My dear friend Debbie @ Haley's Happenings blog's mom is in the hospital at this time with a pretty serious condition. Please keep her mom and family in your prayers at this time that she may have a healthy and speedy recovery.

Prayer Works!

We are all rejoicing this evening at the good news that Andy's "nerve racking" (to say it mildly) PET SCAN came back CLEAR late this afternoon. The family was not expecting the results until tomorrow. Prayer does work!! If you have ever doubted that before in your life, you need to see what it has done for this family over the past year!! Plus it has given us all a great gift as well knowing that prayers ARE ANSWERED!
Look out Mickey Mouse, Andy and his family are headed your way in a couple of weeks!! What a great way to celebrate this victory over an evil cancer in the Magic Kingdom!

Florida Header

Well I just couldn't resist changing my header back to our good times that we had in Florida this summer. This cold weather makes me wish that summer would be just around the corner.

In this picture other than my family is Leah's best friend, Hayley and Scott, Lauren's boyfriend.

We will always cherish our good family memories that is for sure!

Thanks to my friend Joy!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to one of my best friends, Joy who gave me a lesson on how to change my background to some of the pretty backgrounds that some of my blogging friends have on their blogs. I have wanted to do this for some time but time to sit down any length of time and learn how to do it was the problem. Today was a perfect day. We both we trying to update our blogs just a little. Thanks so much Joy for helping me out!

She snapped this picture last night at our churches New Years Eve get together after church. We have been friends since our children were 9 years old and now their 21 and soon to be 21.

She got me the necklace I have on for Christmas with my initial and on the back it has Ya Ya Sisters!! We have had a lot of memories together with our families.

Joy has always told me on New Year's Day that I did not need to wash any clothes that I would have bad luck all year if I did. Well I am NOT superstitious so I have always washed clothes on New Years and things seemed to be okay for me thru the year. Well last night I told Joy that she better wash clothes on New Year's because she has not had any GOOD LUCK of any kind for the past 2 years!! That she better take after me and wash those clothes!
